La Pedrera

The casa Milà, also known as La Pedrera was the most questioned of Gaudí’s works, due to his innovation and courage through an architecture that was never ever seen before. La Pedrera is slightly bitterer and more dramatic than La Casa Batlló. This house represented Gaudi’s architecture ideas much better.

The façade simulates a wave movement, waving and reaching a surprising stylistic freedom. The iron balusters on windows and balconies matches perfectly with the rest. We can say it is esculptoric as a whole.

The building top recreates a dreamlike world where chimneys and air ducts reshape anthropomorphically. This will later on inspire sculptor Subirats on his characters for The Sagrada Família.
